Texas native David Garza is a Grammy-winning artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose career spans multiple genres and expands into production, film composition, and session work. He is a rare creative force—equally at home writing intimate songs, shaping artists’ visions in the studio, and producing acclaimed albums.

Starting his career as an artist, he had numerous DIY releases to his credit by the time he signed with Atlantic Records and issued 1998's This Euphoria. That album and its 2001 follow-up, Overdub, earned him a more widespread international audience, which he continues to nurture as an independent artist, self-releasing new music up to the present day.

In addition to his own releases, Garza has worked as a session musician with artists like John Legend, Iron & Wine, and Gaby Moreno among others. In 2020, he co-produced and designed the cover artwork for Fiona Apple's Grammy-winning album Fetch the Bolt Cutters, going on to produce music for diverse acts ranging from Hanson to Midland to Ozomatli.

“Whenever I’m working with David,I feel like I’m reconnected with my true self from childhood, when every moment of making music flowed easily into the next;when time disappeared because focusing was joyful…Working with David,my inhibitions always fall away,my inner judgements,my fears—everything that gets in the way of real creativity, just evaporates in the sunlight that he so effortlessly embodies.”

- FIONA APPLE

Davíd Garza is one of the greatest all around musicians I have ever had the honor to work with. He has a deep understanding of composition and what it takes in the studio or onstage to make magic happen. He has an incredible feel for so many different genres of music from rock and roll to jazz to blues to Tejano border music and on and on. He is a keeper of the flame of song and is an American treasure. Anyone who has worked with him will tell you the same. He sees the big picture while focusing on every detail. He’s also a really nice person. What’s not to love?

- JOHN C. REILLY

“Some people are chosen to be a medium, channeling music from some place we can't see or access. David is one of those people. He produced the first recordings Midland did as a band and we think of him as our spiritual leader to this day.”

- JESS CARSON (Midland)

“David Garza isn’t just a producer, he’s a musical force of nature. Also, music really likes the guy.”

- CHRIS PEREZ (Selena y Los Dinos / Chris Perez Project)

“David has been like a musical shaman for me since we first met and started collaborating back in 2014. Whether it be as a song writer, session player on every instrument that exists, a producer, a performer and a singer, David is in a league of his own.  With an ancient heart and a new wave soul, David Garza is one of the best musicians I’ve ever seen and is keeping the tradition of a “Troubadour” alive and well anywhere he journeys “

- Mark Wystrach (Midland)

“David Garza is a master and one of the most important and inspiring voices in music. As a solo artist, his work is soaring and unmatched. As a collaborative partner - whether it’s in writing, producing or playing - his contributions are essential. Thank god for David!”

“David is pure intuition in human form. Everything flows straight from the heart with no filter, no hesitation. When we work together, it’s like tuning into the same cosmic frequency, effortless, electric, unforgettable. Beyond the music, he’s a true connector, bringing great people together and creating friendships and music that last.”

- CHRIS SOREM (Grammy Award Winning Producer Los Lobos, Rufus Wainwright)

“David is not just a gifted musician. Gifted, indeed but not just in a musical sense. He’s a gifted human whose spirit shines brightest through music. He makes you feel lucky to be in a room where magic happens. And not so coincidentally, it always seems to happen when he’s in the room.”
